Interested In Joining?

We are looking for ambitious, and motivated women who are wanting  and willing to become involved on campus and in the community. A woman who cares about her own growth, the growth of her sisters and of the community. A woman who will enhance our sorority and our members, as well as gaining a lot by being a member herself. Are you fun? social? a leader? Then check out Phi Sigma Sigma! Come to our events and see if we are right for you.

THE MEMBERSHIP PROCESS

1. Contact an active member in the chapter.
This can be in numerous ways. Through this website, feel free to email a member, or join our facebook Rush group. During recruitment periods and club days we have a table set up where you can talk to members in person, grab a brochure or business card, and sign up for our emailing list. When we are at an event, don't hesitate to approach us and find out more. Or if you have an existing friendship with a member, let her know you are thinking about joining.

2. Show an interest in joining.
We always have a lot going on and are always encouraging non-members to participate and experience what Greek Life really is. Check out our calendar of events or email us to find out exactly what we have planned, and figure out what events you'd like to join in on.

3. Learn more about the sorority.
Attending our Information Parties gives us a chance to sit down with interested members and go over the finer details of our sorority, the membership process, etc. It gives us a chance to get to know you, and you a chance to get know us and see if Phi Sigma Sigma is the right organization for you.  If you cannot attend the Info Parties, other arrangements can be made.

4. Attend a Bid ceremony.
Bid is where we formally invite potential members to join Phi Sigma Sigma by extending to them an invitation. If we feel you have shown interest in joining by attending events and that you will be an asset to our chapter, we will offer you a Bid. This is the first mandatory event in our membership process. [Please note that if you receive a Bid you are able to postpone accepting it and therefore continuing the membership process until the following semester if desired.]

5. Attend a Pinning ceremony.
If you choose to accept your Bid from Phi Sigma Sigma, you will attend a pinning ceremony. This ceremony marks the beginning of the New Member period that lasts 4-6 weeks. In this time you will receive a sapphire sister who will act as a mentor and help you learn more about the history of Phi Sigma Sigma.

6.Attend Initiation.
This marks the end of the New Member period, and is the beginning of your lifelong membership into Phi Sigma Sigma. It is a closed (secret) ceremony, but there is NO HAZING of any sort involved. Please note the date of Initiation on the Calendar to be sure you can attend, as it is difficult to reschedule.
